Skin Cancer
Types Of Skin Lesions
Benign
Non-cancerous skin growths like moles, skin tags, and cysts are common and usually harmless. While they don’t pose a health risk, removal for comfort or cosmetic reasons is an option.
Pre Cancerous Lessions
These abnormal skin growths, such as Actinic Keratosis and Bowen’s Disease, can develop into skin cancer if left untreated. Early detection and treatment are key to prevention.
Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)
BCCs are the most common type of skin cancer, typically presenting as a small, shiny bump or a flat, flesh-coloured patch on sun-exposed areas.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)
SCCs are a common type of skin cancer, appearing as a scaly red patch, sore, or thickened skin that doesn’t heal. It can grow and spread if left untreated.
Malignant Melanoma
The most aggressive form of skin cancer, melanoma often appears as an irregular, dark mole with uneven borders. Early detection and treatment are crucial to prevent spreading.
Treatment Options for Skin Cancer
Treatment options vary based on the type of lesion and may include surgical removal, cryotherapy, or topical medications.
